Two killed in separate road accidents in Dhaka before Iftar
A motorcyclist was hit by a bus in Malibagh and a person was hit by a motorcycle on Elephant Road in the capital. These two accidents occurred in Dhaka before Iftar on Tuesday afternoon. The bodies of both have been kept at the Dhaka Medical College morgue.
Dhaka Medical College Hospital sources said that the name of the motorcyclist killed in the Malibagh bus accident is Palash Molla (36). He is a money exchange trader by profession. And the name of the person killed in the Elephant Road motorcycle accident is Abdul Mannan (61). He has a tailor shop on Elephant Road.
Syed Zulfiqar, who took Palash Molla to the hospital after the Malibagh accident, said that Palash was seriously injured in a Victor Classic Paribahan bus accident in the Chowdhurypara area of Malibagh around 5 pm. He was rescued and first taken to a local hospital. Later, he was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the doctor declared him dead.
Palash’s nephew Rezwan Mollah said that his uncle Palash Mollah has a foreign currency trading business in Motijheel. He lives with his family in the Dakshin Banasree area. His uncle met with an accident on his way home from his business in Motijheel. Their village is in Narail district.
Meanwhile, Md. Habib, who brought Abdul Mannan, who was killed in the accident on Elephant Road, to the hospital, told Prothom Alo that he (Habib) is a businessman. His business is next to the business of the deceased Mannan. Mannan had gone out to get iftar at around 5:30 pm. A speeding motorcycle hit him while crossing the road. He fell on the road and was seriously injured. He was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the doctor declared him dead. Abdul Mannan’s village is in Gaibandha. He lived with his family in Jigatola.
Inspector Md. Faruk told Prothom Alo that the bodies of the two people killed in two separate accidents have been kept in the morgue. The two police stations concerned have been informed about the accident. They will take further legal action.
